I am changing out a ceiling fan/light fixture w/ just a light fixture in my dining room. when i took down the old fan, i stupidly did not pay attention to the wiring.there are 3 sets of black/white/ground wires in the junction box.i tested all the black and white wires w/ a multimeter with the dimmer switch turned off and then on. only 1 black wire gave me a reading (both w/ power on and off)., one wire is connected to the ceiling fan and the other is connected to the light kit. untwist the wire nut that is holding these two wires together. place the wire nut back onto the white wire in the light kit wire housing that is permanently connected to the ceiling fan.
